dolman top

Another ultra easy, quick-sew project. I got the pattern for this dolman sleeve top from fitzpatterns.com. Just two pieces — front and back. I’m a big fan of both the dolman and batwing sleeves. Thankfully, they’re easier to sew than regular, set in sleeves! I also have a particular fondness for boatnecks.

  1. Hi,Just found your blog. This is a gorgeous top,I’m going to have to go over to that website and look at their patterns. Yours is a great advert!

  2. thanks eithne! fitzpatterns.com doesn’t have a lot to choose from, but their small selection is perfect if you’re into fun, casual clothing from the juniors dept. 🙂

  3. I found the pattern 0408 Kate, but a link to an instructions pdf is broken. It may have been working in 2008 at the time of your photo. Were those instructions important? If they were perhaps you could pass them on if not I will bug fitzpatterns.
    Thank you in advance,
    Roz

    • I just saw your comment now Roz–so sorry! it’s probably way too late to respond, but I’ll do so anyway rather than leave you unanswered…

I didn’t find the instructions necessary at all. It’s basically two pieces, front and back–and of course the neck and sleeve edges need finishing. No seam allowance is given though. Sorry again for the 4-month delay in getting back to you!
